Having completed her PGDL and LPC at the College of Law in London, Deborah Mattana has worked extensively advising organisations and citizens on Welfare and Housing Rights, Consumer Issues, Wealth Management, and Employment Rights.
It was during her time as Project Manager for Citizens Advice in the UK that the concept of Aleph arose as a first port of call for providing advice, information and assistance to individuals and organisations by empowering them with the necessary tools to develop essential personal and professional skills After several years delivering services for Citizens Advice, Deborah relocated to Gibraltar and expanded the scope of her projects. She continues to work with advice agencies empowering clients to gain access to justice, knowledge about their civil rights, delivering top quality private education programs and providing confidential dispute resolution services.
Deborah has also managed leading educational projects within the UK aimed at improving student performance and behaviour, and developing as program content. She has lectured in Modern Languages and Literacy, with particular focus on student empowerment via education and has delivered sessions on improving student output and managing behaviour. Deborah has also been involved in creating and coordinating multidisciplinary and multi-agency strategies to maximise student potential and has designed schemes of work for EAL and SEN students. Additionally, she has helped organisations deliver and monitor multilingual courses in English, Spanish and French. Deborah's experience in the sector render her a leading expert in educational program design and management, for primary and advanced studies
Deborah can also offer advocacy and mediation support and often intervenes, on behalf of clients, parents / guardians, in discussions between Advice Agencies, Educational Specialists, Government Departments and Healthcare professionals.
